The Garnet Way infinity pool project is a 900 sq. ft. pool in Penticton, British Columbia, built with Amvic™ ICF as part of a larger ICF home build. Built directly into the mountainside, the pool follows the contours of the natural rock, which forms the pool bed, and includes an integrated hot tub, infinity edge glass wall, structural suspended slab, and 56,000-gallon capacity.
The project was named the 2024 ICF Builder Awards pools and people’s choice winner.
Q&A:
Q. What was the major benefit of using Amvic™ ICF over traditional construction methods?
A. The builder uses ICF for all pools. He believes the heat retention is increased significantly more so than building with the steel walls. This pool could not be built with steel. ICF construction allowed the pool to follow the contours of the mountain. Allowing the mountain to showcase its beauty as the flooring of the pool.
Contractor/Owner Quote
I have previous experience and have been exclusively using Amvic™ ICF in the last 6 years. Due to the challenges of the large natural rock this pool is built on. The ICF product was a welcoming challenge. I have been using ICF for a number of years and feels very comfortable using the product in anyway shape or matter.”
