Building Swimming Pools with ICF

Building your swimming pool with Amvic™ Insulated Concrete Forms provides structural longevity and reduced energy costs.

Why Build Pools with Insulated Concrete Forms?

It is estimated that up to 80% of a pool’s heat is lost through the sides and bottom. Considering the surface area of a pool, continuous insulation is the best choice and an ICF wall with an insulated slab are ideal for modern day swimming pools.

ICF blocks are easy to handle and no heavy equipment is required for lifting or cutting. ICF can be adapted to curved, radius and standard rectangular walls easier than most other pool systems. An ICF pool follows similar construction practices as an ICF concrete retaining wall. Within the Amvic ICF product line, straight, 90° and 45° forms are available as well as various brick ledge, double taper top and radius forms.

Amvic™ ICF Insulated Concrete Forms

ICF for swimming pools act as a great insulator for pool walls. Building with ICF is faster and easier, but also lowers energy consumption and reduces heat loss. This is beneficial for keeping water temperatures warm. ICF pools also offer flexibility in design, giving pool owners the option to design different shapes and depths, and many other additional benefits.

Ampex Insulated PEX Panel

Ampex insulated PEX panels are installed directly into the poured concrete slab, insulating the underlayment beneath the pool’s surface. The integration of radiant heating improves energy efficiency by reducing heat loss, optimizing the pool’s heating system for cost-effective operation.
