Building code compliance is an important part of product specification and approval. Amvic™ ICF products are supported by third-party listings, evaluation reports, and testing that document their performance under applicable Canadian and U.S. standards.
The following resources give architects, engineers, contractors, and building officials documented information for evaluating Amvic™ ICF systems for use in residential, commercial, and institutional construction.
Certification and Evaluations

Canadian Construction Materials Centre
Amvic™ Standard Insulated Concrete Forms and Amvic™ Plus 3.30 Insulated Concrete Forms are actively listed by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre under CCMC 13043-L.
The Canadian Construction Materials Centre lists both systems under CAN/ULC-S717.1:2017 for Standard for Flat Wall Insulating Concrete Form (ICF) Units.

ICC Evaluation Service
In the United States, Amvic™ Standard and Amvic™ Plus 3.30 Insulated Concrete Forms are covered by ICC-ES Evaluation Report ESR-1269.
The ICC-ES report provides technical information for determining compliance with applicable provisions of the International Building Code and International Residential Code. The report addresses areas such as structural use, surface-burning characteristics, fire-resistance-rated construction, and other conditions of use specified within the evaluation.

QAI Laboratories
Amvic™ ICF products are listed through QAI Laboratories under QAI Listing B1061-2.
The QAI listing covers Amvic™ Standard Insulated Concrete Forms and Amvic™ Plus 3.30 Insulated Concrete Forms and documents applicable standards related to ICF system performance, EPS insulation, surface-burning characteristics, combustion properties, and fire resistance.
Compliance
Amvic™ ICF systems use molded, closed-cell Expanded Polystyrene panels connected by polypropylene webs. Alleguard’s Amvic™ ICF R22 and Amvic™ ICF R30 product data sheets document physical properties and testing for the EPS components, including strength, thermal performance, moisture properties, dimensional characteristics, and fire performance.
Some of the standards and test methods associated with Amvic™ ICF include:
- Polystyrene Board Thermal Insulation – ASTM C578, CAN/ULC-S701.1
- Compressive strength of EPS – ASTM D 1621
- Flexural strength of EPS – ASTM C203
- Water vapor transmission – ASTM E96
- Water absorption determination – ASTM D2842
- Limiting oxygen index – ASTM D2863
- Thermal resistance of EPS – ASTM C 177
- Trueness and squareness – ASTM C550
- Surface Burning Characteristics – ASTM E84, CAN/ULC-S102.2
- Fire Resistance Rating – CAN/ULC-S101
Evaluations
The following evaluations examine how the Amvic™ ICF system relates to broader product standards and building-code requirements.
- Fire performance evaluations of wall – ASTM E119
- Polystyrene Board Thermal Insulation – ASTM C578, CAN/ULC-S701.1
- Fire Resistance Rating – CAN/ULC-S101
Fire burning properties of polypropylene reinforcing webs:
- Ignition temperature – ASTM D1929/UBC 26-6
- Burn rate – ASTM D635)
- Smoke density – ASTM D2843/UBC 26-5
