King’s Bay Point is a 2,995 sq. ft. coastal home in Crystal River, Florida, built with Amvic™ ICF on a 3.83-acre peninsula overlooking King’s Bay. The project used 9,790 sq. ft. of ICF to create 100% ICF exterior walls, with oversized windows, tall wall sections, an elevator shaft, and an AmDeck Pro Floor System used to support construction efficiency. Built for Gulf Coast storm conditions, the home was left unscathed by Category 4 Hurricane Idalia and was named the 2024 ICF Builder Awards Small Residential Winner.
Q&A:
Q. What was the major benefit of using Amvic™ ICF over traditional construction methods?
A. This home is a testament to the strength of an ICF built home. The high sustained winds during Hurricane Isabelle were barely noticed or heard from inside. When the water receded, this home appeared exactly the same as the day before.
Contractor/Owner Quote
“Contractor was familiar with ICF construction, but this was his first build using ICF construction. Contractor is currently in the planning stages of an ICF development in Southwest Missouri. Using ICF homes to offer strength to clients during tornado season.”
