Q&A:
Q. What was the major benefit of using Amvic’s Amrad radon Gas Panel for this residential building?
A. When the joints are taped and sealed, it function as both an air and vapor barrier. Each panel is easy to handle due to its low weight and can be easily cut.
It is very easy to install and a 3-in-1 solution for vapor barrier, base and sub- base floor slab, everything about it was so easy to work with, right from cutting to how we snap everything together.
It also acts as continuous insulation in the building envelope, reducing thermal bridging and energy consumption while improving comfort.
Contractor/Owner Quote
“We chose all 3 Amvic products— ICF, Ampex, and Amrad, to construct our home. As proposed to us by our engineer from Home Hardware— the Amrad panel is very strong and durable. It has a built-in membrane that eliminates the need for an extra step in the installation process, providing a clean edge when cut while maintaining a strong seal to the foam. It was easy to walk on during the construction. The unique channel pattern design of the panel and grid lines helped with the interlocking connection and adapter installation. The pattern provides the best combination of airflow and panel strength/rigidity. With these product(s) we have an energy-efficient, comfortable, and a solid home, which is important to my family.”
