Q&A with the builder

Q. What was the major benefit of using Amvic ICF over conventional construction?

A. The major benefit of using Amvic ICF was that with Amvic we were able to get a system that was structural and energy efficient at the same time.

Q. Why did you choose Amvic ICF?

A. We like the AMVIC block because of its expected performance in the field. Ease of construction and fast assembly.

Installer Quote

“We’ve chosen to promote and build with the AMVIC ICFs for several reasons: Ease of assembly, readily available, building efficiency… The concept of a ‘form-in-place’ building block that doesn’t require a tear-down and stripping process at the end of the project and leaves behind a completely insulated structural wall system that exceeds all conventional wall assemblies in terms of energy efficiency. Owners who understand the long-term value of building envelope, integrity, and operational costs ‘get it’.”

Contractor Quote

“The ICF worked well on the project for several reasons. We planned on this being a legacy building as a hundred year build. The concrete walls made the most sense to meet those criteria. The storage room acted as a large cooler for storing wine at all times maintaining temperatures below 10°C even during 30° days making the space more versatile and a bonus luxury from an operations standpoint.”

– Paul Waddell, Director, BLT Construction Services Inc.
