Smart Home Sustainability: Achieving Zero Energy Efficiency

Energy Savings

Recently, the “Pinnacle” project, a residential home boasting over 6,000 sq.ft of living space won the ICF Builder Award (2nd Runner up) in the Unlimited Residential category. This home, with off-grid capabilities, is the ultimate, zero -energy smart home, built using Amvic’s durable Insulated Concrete Forms.

While we know Insulated Concrete Forms provide a substantial amount of efficiency, insulation, and durability, to name a few, this complete home, with all of its components, is beyond conventional. The Ultra-Modern home consists of a passive solar design, massive windows and a walkable rooftop terrace.

With the use of ICF walls, concrete floors and solar panels, the home itself eliminates hydro bills and feeds energy back into the grid. The home also features an in-floor radiant heat system which heats the home more efficiently. The construction of this particular home also used 97% less trees than if built conventionally.

Amvic is always proud to be a part of a build that ultimately leads to owner satisfaction. Living a comfortable lifestyle, using less energy and saving trees are just some of the reasons why Amvic continues to design and provide the best products on the market today!
