Introducing Amrad Rigid Insulation Panel for Under Slab Depressurization System
Amvic is known for manufacturing industry-leading Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) and expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation building materials. We are proud to introduce a new product called Amrad which is an insulated, under slab depressurization panel, and a key component in a radon gas mitigation system, the space created by the integrated channels serves as an air gap for soil gas collection which means that the radon gas can vent out to the exterior using a connected PVC piping with a continuously running exhaust fan. The product system replaces the need for 4” (102mm) gravel and a dedicated soil gas retarding membrane.
This panelized solution with its unique channel design, void percentage, film and foam density creates a strong and durable panel, giving builders the ability to build an insulated concrete slab while meeting radon building code requirements and improving the indoor air quality for occupants.
The panel is 48×48” (1219x1219mm), molded from high-density, closed-cell, Type 2 (II) EPS insulation. Amrad comes as a 3.5” (89mm) thick panel at R12 (RSI 2.11) and is also available in 4.5” (114mm), R16 (RSI 2.82) panel.
First-time Amrad homeowner had the following to say “We got the AMRAD panel as it was proposed to us from our engineer. The Amrad panel is very strong and durable. It was easy to walk on during construction without causing any damage. The unique design of the panel and the logo placements also helped with the interlocking connection and adapter installation.”
Amvic will continue to provide innovative and high-performance insulation building solutions that help construct energy-efficient homes that are disaster-resilient and sustainable, ensuring the highest level of quality and comfort.
